About Leadership Lake Tahoe
Leadership Lake Tahoe began in 2003 with a mission of identifying and developing current and future leaders through a comprehensive program designed to increase knowledge and awareness of the issues and challenges facing our community.
The program is an intensive ten-month experience to provide information, strategies, contacts, and opportunities for personal and professional growth. Graduates of the program will be equipped to become leaders in the South Shore.

Required Commitment
- Program sessions are held the second Wednesday of each month (September through June) 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
- Participants are expected to attend all sessions.
- Participants will work on a group project that will benefit the community and develop a multitude of leadership skills.
- Two “experiential” work-related assignments (create a training or marketing program, actively participate in a public agency meeting, etc.).
Application Process
Applications are due by June 15 and include:
- Cover letter describing career goals and desire for an active leadership role in the South Shore community
- Application form completed and signed by employer
- Current resume
- Letter of recommendation
- $100 deposit
Investment Requirements
- Tuition is $500 for Chamber members ($750 for non-members)
- Due by August 1
- Scholarships may be available
