The Government Affairs Committee of TahoeChamber has been successful in bringing together officials from the city and counties to seek solutions to common issues affecting local businesses such as affordable housing, signage, and transportation. Chamber staff regularly represents the business community at the city, county, state, and federal levels and reports back to the membership on issues of concern to local businesses.
Tahoechamber frequently provides educational workshops, seminars and materials to our membership to keep them apprised of legislative updates that impact their businesses.
Below is the link to a list of new laws for the State of California that could impact CA businesses provided to us by CalChamber
The list includes recent changes to the pregnancy disability regulations and the disability discrimination and accommodation regulations. Other significant changes for 2013 include anti-discrimination protections, employee access to personnel records and employer access to personal social media accounts. Some changes relate specifically to certain industries including farm labor contractors and temporary services employers.
Unless specified, the list of new legislation went into effect January 1, 2013. View the list on CalChamber’s website.
