With an annual average of 274 days of sunshine, South Lake Tahoe is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise with something for everyone. 

During winter you can choose to snowshoe, cross country ski or snowmobile through crystalline snow fields or head to one of the area's resorts for world class skiing and snowboarding. If you are looking for something a little less strenuous take a paddle wheeler cruise to Emerald Bay or simply wander through our winter wonderland with your dog and enjoy the splendor of it all.

Spring and Autumn are considered by many to be the best time of year in the Sierras. Fishermen anticipate opening day in spring and look forward to quiet days on the myriad streams, rivers and lakes while hikers eagerly set off amongst budding trees and wild flowers. Autumn is perfect for getting in those late season hikes, mountain bike and motorcycle rides. During October be sure to visit Taylor Creek to view the spawning Kokanee Salmon and bring a camera to capture the beauty of red and gold against the brilliant blue mountain skies.

Summer is the reason many residents ended up here permanently after coming to work for the winter. What can you say about perfection! Warm daytime temperatures are just right for boating, swimming, kayaking, water skiing, fishing, golfing, hiking, Para-gliding, biking and camping while the evenings are perfect for viewing the sun set across one of nature's most majestic lakes and relaxing around your campfire.
