Allegra Boyd is the definition of a go-getter in all aspects of her life. As the Director of Marketing & Sales for Service Master Restore, she has grown her family’s business into one of the main competitors in the region. Beyond her professional position, Allegra also volunteers for SOS Outreach, serves as Vice President of the Tahoe-Douglas Rotary board, and has just joined the Tahoe Chamber board after 5 years of being a committed ambassador. Learn a little more about this week’s 40 under 40 in her Q&A below.

Congratulations to this week’s 40 under 40 honoree, Allegra Boyd!

Can you tell us a little about your responsibilities and accomplishments in your current position?

I am the Director of Marketing & Sales for Service Master Restore, responsible for 24/7 property restoration in the Northern Nevada and Lake Tahoe territories. I’ve helped grow our family operation into one of the main competitors in our region.

As the Director, I oversee and manage our company marketing, sales, advertising and web development. I’m IICRC certified in Water, Fire, Smoke & Odor Damage and teach Continuing Education Classes to Insurance Professionals.

What has been your favorite professional moment in the last year?

For a little over a year I have focused on our company’s web marketing and development, along with helping update and manage its internal software. I feel accomplished in not only our team’s internal progress but the impact our digital efforts are starting to make.

Who is your role model?

I’m lucky enough to have quite a few role models. Both of my parents, Ken and Kathleen Boyd, have been huge influences in my life. Beyond raising 6 other children than me, and grandparents 14 times over, they have guided me toward my current position and help support me through my professional development.

Why choose Tahoe to make your home and career?

I fell in love with Tahoe the first time I visited Northern NV almost 10 years ago on a preliminary work trip. I knew immediately I wanted to give the Tahoe life a shot, not only for the amazing views but the accessibility to so many sports and activities. The Chamber was integral in making Tahoe my home. I was introduced to so many new friends and business connections helping me realize how special this community truly is. We are all here looking for connections and a fulfilling life. I’m lucky enough to be in the Tahoe Region and call this place home.

Are you active in any volunteer roles or community groups?

I recently joined the Tahoe Chamber board, and I’ve been an ambassador for 5+ years. I sit on the membership committee and the government affairs committee and just recently joined the task force.

I am a member of the Tahoe-Douglas Rotary and currently serving as Vice President of the Board.

I also volunteer with the SOS Outreach program. We help instill core values into the local youth through mentorship, riding together on the mountain and volunteering locally.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

Like many other locals in our area, I enjoy anything outdoors. I love snowboarding in the wintery months and you’ll usually find us at Stagecoach – Heavenly. I can’t get enough of the views! I just got my first pair of snow shoes so I’m looking forward to finding more winter adventures.

In the summer months I hike, mountain bike, kayak, paddle board, or enjoy boating with friends and family. We spend a lot of time a Pyramid Lake and traveling when time and money allows.

Where are your favorite South Shore stomping grounds

“My Backyard” couldn’t get any better when living in Tahoe. In the summer I love beach days at Roundhill Beach, or if we are bringing the pup, we enjoy hanging at Nevada Beach. In the winter, I try to spend most weekends on the mountain and most often ride Heavenly. A favorite local restaurant to hang at is Ten Crows!
