“I’m very proud to have made a place that is positive and has a good environment for both the stylists and our loving clients.”

Angela Zajic started RAH Hair Studio in 2009 and has continued to grow her business and client base, including recently opening a brand new studio located in The Crossing at Tahoe Valley. Angela also started and continues to coordinate Bubbles and Bowties, an adult prom that raises money for the Nevada Diabetes Association.

Congratulations to this week’s 40 under 40 honoree, Angela Zajic!

Can you tell us a little about your responsibilities and accomplishments in your current position?

I started RAH Hair studio in 2009 and have been able to do my passion (wedding hair) for 17 years! From magazines to blogs and adventures all over, I am truly getting to do what I love! I also have been teaching for Marcia Sarosik Dance studio for 20 years.

What has been your favorite professional moment in the last year?

We made a huge decision to build a brand new beautiful salon at the crossing! We were able to hire more artists and front desk staff and wedding coordinator. I’m very proud to have made a place that is positive and has a good environment for both the stylists and our loving clients.

Do you have a professional/life mantra that you live by?

Shine even in the shade.

Who is your role model?

Marcia Sarosik. I could write a novel about how she has impacted my life since I was 10 years old. Her dedication to community and outreach is incredible. I hope I can touch even a fraction of the lives she has touched.

Why choose Tahoe to make your home and career?

I built a clientele here for my salon and have had strong ties in the dance community and have never left! I have no idea what that would even look like somewhere else.

Are you active in any volunteer roles or community groups?

I started Bubbles and Bowties, It is an adult prom. All the proceeds go to CAMP BUCK. The Nevada Diabetes Association puts on Camp Buck every year and it is my HUGE passion project. CAMP BUCK is a camp for type 1 diabetics that has education, coping skills, top Endocrinologists and nurses and nutritionists. When I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at 10 years old this camp changed my life and helped me. Not only did it help with leadership skills and coping with a lifelong disease, it gave me hope and friends going through it. I want every kid in Tahoe and the surrounding areas to be able to attend this camp and have a chance to be able to cope with this.

I just got married last year and my husband has been my right arm in the Prom!

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

Hiking, biking, paddleboarding, camping, singing, art and spending time with my little poodle.

Where are your favorite South Shore stomping grounds?

DL bliss, Cave Rock, Emerald Bay, and pretty much every trail I can explore.
