“Focus on the good, and the good gets better.”

Brittani Curtis has joined the Edgewood Tahoe team as their Marketing Manager, where she is responsible for the marketing strategy, brand direction, and public relations for the luxury resort. Edgewood has recently received the Forbes Travel Guide 4-Star rating, and Brittani is looking forward to helping take the resort to the next level.

Congratulations to this week’s 40 under 40 honoree, Brittani Curtis!

Can you tell us a little about your responsibilities and accomplishments in your current position?

I’m honored to be a part of the Edgewood Tahoe Marketing Team, where I’m responsible for the property’s marketing strategies, brand direction, public relations activities, and overall storytelling.

What has been your favorite professional moment in the last year?

My favorite professional moment in the last year was celebrating Edgewood Tahoe’s Forbes Travel Guide 4-Star rating. It was a team effort and overall highlighted the passion everyone here has for exceeding expectations. Since I’ve only been with Edgewood Tahoe for seven months, I feel like I’m cheating walking into what is an already fantastic property but looking forward to helping earn a 5-star rating.

Do you have a professional/life mantra that you live by?

Focus on the good, and the good gets better. As cheesy as it is, focusing on the positive holds such power in a stressful situation.

Who is your role model?

I’m in great company at Edgewood Tahoe and see all of our female leaders as role models. I’m looking forward to continuing to grow my professional self through their guidance.

Why choose Tahoe to make your home and career?

Aside from its beauty and outstanding recreation, my fiancé, born and raised here, brought me to Tahoe. I’ve enjoyed becoming apart of the south shore’s business community, and I also appreciate how close-knit the community is.

Are you active in any volunteer roles or community groups?

Volunteer activities is an area of opportunity for me. I often get too caught up in my career that I forget to give back to South Shore’s fantastic community. My goal for 2020 is to volunteer for organizations that help the environment and wildlife population.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

Outside of work, I enjoy all the outdoor recreation that Tahoe has to offer. During the summer months, I love being on the lake or backpacking. In the winter months, I love riding Sierra-at-Tahoe.

Where are your favorite South Shore stomping grounds?

There are so many great businesses in our community that its tough to name just a few, but you’ll often find me at The Hanger, Off the Hook Sushi, Verde Mexican Rotisserie, and Malena Boutique.
