“I enjoy helping clients plan for and navigate what can be the most trying times of their lives.”

Jamie Walker is an Associate Attorney at Alling & Jillson, where she focuses her practice in estate planning and administration and business and real estate transactions. When this South Lake native isn’t working at the law firm, she donates her time as a board member on the Heavenly Foundation and coaches AYSO.

Congratulations to this week’s 40 under 40 honoree, Jamie Walker!

Can you tell us a little about your responsibilities and accomplishments in your current position?

I’m an associate attorney at the law firm of Alling & Jillson. I focus my practice in estate planning and administration and business and real estate transactions. I enjoy helping clients plan for and navigate what can be the most trying times of their lives. I really enjoy the charitable components that are involved with estate planning.

What has been your favorite professional moment in the last year?

I would say assisting a family with an estate plan, which was then shortly thereafter put to task because of a sudden death. I believe that my work helped make the grieving process a bit easier for the family.

Do you have a professional/life mantra that you live by?

It is not a problem until it’s a problem.

Who is your role model?

My dad,  Stan Hansen. I greatly admire his career path and his commitment to this community for the 30+ years he lived here.  It’s a common occurrence for me to hear, “You’re Stan Hansen’s daughter?  I love your dad!” I’d consider myself lucky if people paid me the same compliment in the future.

Why choose Tahoe to make your home and career?

I was born and raised in South Lake Tahoe. Like a lot of people, I had to leave to truly appreciate how special Tahoe truly is. I understand and appreciate the value of being brought up in this town and wanted to afford my daughter the same opportunity.  When I started my career in law, I did not expect to practice in this community; however I am so fortunate to have the break to be a professional in this area and to serve the community I also call home.

Are you active in any volunteer roles or community groups?

I’m a Board Member on the Heavenly Foundation and coach AYSO

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

Skiing, boating, and concerts.

Where are your favorite South Shore stomping grounds?

Heavenly, Kirkwood, Ernie’s, Clyde’s, CrossFit Lake Tahoe, Edgewood, Whiskey Cove, Ski Beach
