“Life is one big evolving puzzle and we just have to figure out how to make the pieces fit in different situations.”

Julia Requarth wears many hats as the Marketing Manager for FATCO Skincare. Between juggling all social media accounts, content creation, customer care, and e-commerce customer experience, Julia has also found time to be an active board member for the Tahoe Regional Young Professionals throughout the last four years and is currently their Executive Director.

Congratulations to this week’s 40 under 40 honoree, Julia Requarth!

Can you tell us a little about your responsibilities and accomplishments in your current position?

As a small company, we all wear many hats. I currently manage all of our social media accounts, content creation, ecommerce customer experience and customer care. In the past 3 years with the company, we have launched several new products and also launched the brand in Target stores!

What has been your favorite professional moment in the last year?

My favorite moment in the past year has been launching a small brand in Target stores! It has been an incredible journey and I have gained invaluable experience working with a brand like Target!

Do you have a professional/life mantra that you live by?

“Every problem has a solution.” – My Mom

Ever since I was a child my mom instilled this philosophy in my head. Watching her live out this mantra day in and day out helped shape me into the person I am today. Life is one big evolving puzzle and we just have to figure out how to make the pieces fit in different situations.

Who is your role model?

I’m going to have to go with my dad on this one! He branched out on his own with three small children to follow his dream of drilling what are called wildcat wells. It is a high risk, high reward business. He persisted through the tough times with a positive outlook for the future. He grew his business and was able to employ up to 10 people at one time. He treated his employees so well that many of the original employees are still with him today close to 30 years later. I can lean on him for advice in difficult times and that means the world to me!

Why choose Tahoe to make your home and career?

I have always loved being outside and have been drawn to the mountains for quite some time. After graduating with my M.B.A. from Pepperdine University, I traded in the beach for the mountains of Park City. I loved my time in Park City but was missing the beach in the summer. Tahoe was just what I needed! Once I got involved with the Tahoe Regional Young Professionals and realized the inspiring community of future leaders that lived here, I was hooked. I was Tahome.

Are you active in any volunteer roles or community groups?

I am the Executive Director of the Tahoe Regional Young Professionals. I have served on the TRYP Board for 4 years in positions from the Marketing Director role to the Finance Director Role. I am passionate about creating a community where new connections are made and people feel welcomed into the Lake Tahoe area. TRYP helped me build my Tahoe family and find my current job. I am forever thankful to TRYP!

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

My favorite thing to do outside of work is adventure and be active! Whether that is working out at Elevated Fitness, skiing, hiking or relaxing by the lake. I am always up for an adventure!

Where are your favorite South Shore stomping grounds

I love Nevada Beach, especially in the off season! Some of my favorite places to eat are Los Mexicanos in Round Hill, Clyde’s Coffee and Artemis.
