“I have always been under the belief that laughter is the best medicine.”

Joining the Bently Heritage Estate Distillery team originally to design the guest experience and tour operations, Lucas Huff now wears many hats as the Director of Brand Advocacy. In addition to his position with Bently, Lucas serves on the Tahoe Chamber Board of Directors and works to build relationships between businesses in the South Shore of Lake Tahoe and the Carson Valley.

Congratulations to this week’s 40 under 40 honoree, Lucas Huff!

Can you tell us a little about your responsibilities and accomplishments in your current position?

Beginning my time with Bently I was hired to design the guest experience and Public House on site in Minden. This included tour operations, cocktail program and building a team that is nothing short of world class. Since then my responsibilities have shifted and now my key responsibilities are focused on digital media content, brand awareness, spirit education, and cocktail development.

What has been your favorite professional moment in the last year?

Expanding the awareness of Bently Heritage, and our spirit portfolio. Over the past year I have had the opportunity to travel across the west to work with distributors and accounts on brand and spirit education. A big highlight for me was being a featured presenter on three stops of the USA today food and wine festival last year.

Do you have a professional/life mantra that you live by?

I have always been under the belief that laughter is the best medicine. With all the things life throws at you, if you don’t know how to step back and smile it’s going to be a tough go!

Who is your role model?

I feel that is ever changing, but most recently I have found the executive leadership team at Bently my most inspiring. Our company focuses heavily on leadership development, and I have had the opportunity to learn and grow more than ever with the support of this team.

Why choose Tahoe to make your home and career?

The Lake Tahoe area has always been home to me. I have made my attempts to leave, but always found myself coming back each time. Once I found out about Bently Heritage I knew the opportunity to root was too great to pass up.

Are you active in any volunteer roles or community groups?

I currently serve on the Board of directors for the Tahoe Chamber. As part of my role it is in my intention to help the Carson Valley and Stateline networks work together for a more cohesive professional group.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

Depending on the time of year you can find me on my skis, bike or with a fishing rod in my hand.

Where are your favorite South Shore stomping grounds?

My parents resided in the Kirkwood meadows for almost 20 years, and that will always be home. Outside of there some hotspots include corral trail, Mott Canyon tavern and just about any dog beach so Roscoe can come too!
