“I’m incredibly lucky to be a part of such a fantastic community.”

Marissa Fox’s work as an attorney has been critical to the South Shore as she helps clients navigate Tahoe’s complex land use regulations while also protecting the environment and preserving the region. Recently joining the team at Feldman Thiel LLP, a law firm that practices real estate, land use, business law, and litigation, Marissa is actively involved in bringing some of the largest projects in town to fruition.

Congratulations to this week’s 40 under 40 honoree, Marissa Fox!

Can you tell us a little about your responsibilities and accomplishments in your current position?

I’m an attorney specializing in real estate and real property work. I help our clients navigate Tahoe’s complex land use regulations while also working to preserve this amazing place that we’re all lucky to call home.

What has been your favorite professional moment in the last year?

Passing the Nevada bar! I’ve been licensed in California since 2007 and taking another exam was a serious challenge.

Do you have a professional/life mantra that you live by?

Do the right thing always.

Who is your role model?

Dad.

Why choose Tahoe to make your home and career?

There isn’t any other place like Tahoe in the world. I’m incredibly lucky to be a part of such a fantastic community.

Are you active in any volunteer roles or community groups?

I previously served on the City’s Parks and Recreation Commission and am currently a member of the Measure P Oversight Committee. I also recently joined the board of the Tahoe Rim Trail Association.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

Snowboarding in the winter and mountain biking in the summer.

Where are your favorite South Shore stomping grounds?

I’ve been known to frequent Mountain Brews and Divided Sky if I’m not at work or enjoying the outdoors. Otherwise, I’m usually out walking my dogs around Twin Peaks, Angora, or Fallen Leaf Lake.
