40 under 40: Mike Peron, Lake Tahoe Television

“I came for the skiing and stayed for the summers.”

In person, you can find Mike Peron on the trails and on the slopes. You can also find him on your television nearly every night, serving as an on-air host and marketing director for Lake Tahoe Television.

Mike has lived in the Tahoe community for nearly eight years. In addition to serving Lake Tahoe TV, he founded FNCTN, an event planning and promotional organization, in 2014. He’s invested in the community not just through his work and hobbies, but also through many volunteer activities.

Congratulations to Mike Peron, the latest honoree of our 40 under 40 series.

Can you tell us a little about your responsibilities and accomplishments in your current position?

At Lake Tahoe Television, I started at the entry level and worked my way up the ranks. At FNCTN, we identify and address the need for quality events in Tahoe.

What has been your favorite professional moment in the last year?

Receiving a White House press pass.

Do you have a professional/life mantra that you try to live by?

“If you fail to plan, you plan to fail.”

What was your first job?

My first job was serving as a marketing intern for a minor league hockey team, the Fresno Falcons.

Why choose Tahoe to make your home and career?

I came for the skiing and stayed for the summers.

Are you active in any volunteer roles or community groups?

Tahoe Regional Young Professionals, Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe, Live Violence Free, and Tahoe Chamber.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

Skiing, golfing, mountain biking and backpacking.

Where are your favorite South Shore stomping grounds?

Sierra-at-Tahoe, Edgewood and Secret Beach.
