Congratulations to this week’s 40 under 40 honoree, Ryan Carr

Can you tell us a little about your responsibilities and accomplishments in your current position?

I have the privilege of working with an amazing team of coaches, therapists, and support staff to help our community members achieve their physical and mental performance goals. I supervise the performance department in the Barton Center for Orthopedics and Wellness.

What has been your favorite professional moment in the last year?

Starting up our mental performance serviceline and helping people realize the importance and enjoyment of training their minds through performance psychology. I did workshops with PSIA-AASI (Professional Ski Instructors of American Association of Snowboard Instructors), Sierra at Tahoe, Vail, TRPA, Tahoe Chamber, and Liberty Utilities on Mental Performance which were super fun!

Do you have a professional/life mantra that you live by?

The purpose of my life is to live with passion, presence and optimism and to positively impact people so we can all create and live the life we love!

Who is your role model?

I honestly try to take a little piece of those I respect in my professional and personal life. There is no one person, but rather a collaboration of the incredible people I have come to know and love throughout the course of my life.

Why choose Tahoe to make your home and career?

No better place to live! Mountains, beaches, recreation and my lovely wife brought me here (her hometown) in 2013 and I knew I wanted to live here instantly! Perfect place to raise our family and teach our children the importance of health, fun and environment.

Are you active in any volunteer roles or community groups?

A member of the Leadership Lake Tahoe class of 2019/2020

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

Spend time with my family in the great Tahoe outdoors, exercise, snowboard, and ride my motorcycle

Where are your favorite South Shore stomping grounds?

Any trail, beach and our amazing breweries
