The City of South Lake Tahoe is soliciting community input through a “participatory budgeting survey “as the Council and City staff consider priorities for how best to expend $5.3 million in federal American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) grant funds.

City leaders have unveiled a list of 20 priority projects identified for consideration, each related to the City’s adopted Strategic Plan. The survey will remain online through Monday, August 9th.

Tahoe Chamber appreciates the City’s commitment to accepting input not just from City residents, but from those who are not City residents, but own businesses, work within, or are otherwise affected by City decisions.

You can see the list of proposed projects here. You can take the survey here. Please participate!

At Tahoe Chamber, we have reviewed the proposed list to identify those which are also consistent with our Tahoe 2025: A South Shore Community Vision.

We will advocate for the Bijou/Al Tahoe Area Master Plan ($500,00); Housing Stock for Local Needs ($500,000); Bijou Park Recreation Improvements to the BMX Track ($35,000), Solar Trash Compacting ($50,000), Regan Beach Improvements ($1.3 million); Ski Run Park Infrastructure ($150,000); Bike Trail Connections/Infrastructure ($250,000); Broadband Infrastructure ($400,000); the Johnson Boulevard Complete Streets Project ($300,000), and the Fire Station 3 Remodel ($900,000
