Rose Tafoya’s geniusETC is an entrepreneur travel and social hub designed to facilitate connections and collaborations among entrepreneurs.
The organization hosts monthly networking events, group travel excursions that combine education and adventure, and a variety of other events for the entrepreneurial community right here in Tahoe.

What business do you represent and how long have you been in business?
I represent the entrepreneur event and travel service business geniusETC and have been providing personal, community and corporate event services and travel excursions for over 25 years. Part of my experience includes serving as: Director of Programming for the California Women’s Conference, Event Project Manager for various Celebrity Charity Golf Classics, Travel Agent and Group Travel Excursions, Fundraising Events, Entrepreneur and Business Mentoring, and Director of Speakers for the South Lake Tahoe TEDx.
Tell us more about what products and services your business offers. Is there anything people may not be aware you offer?
GeniusETC, which stands for Genius Entrepreneur Travel Connection, is dedicated to providing entrepreneur experiences. Here’s a few of them:
- Entrepreneur Social, a monthly networking event currently held at Tahoe Mountain Lab;
- geniusU, an entrepreneur mentoring and online education platform;
- EDventures, which is a group entrepreneur travel excursion that combines education and adventure to locations such as Bali, South Africa, Costa Rica and Australia.
Also, my own Rose Tafoya Event Services offers a variety of unique workshops and retreats, social and corporate events, fundraisers, celebrity golf tournaments, and culinary and travel events. With a creative approach, we specialize in making ideas become reality and moving them into action. We offer scenic destinations for meeting space, lodging, transportation, entertainment and recreation. No event is too small or large. We listen, take your vision and ideas, and make it happen.
Tell us about any current or upcoming events, promotions or unique deals happening at your organization?
GeniusETC hosts Lake Tahoe Entrepreneur Socials. These are relaxed monthly networking events that you want to attend regularly and show up when you are able. This is an opportunity to move away from your solopreneur desk to connect and collaborate with like-minded entrepreneurs; a place to meet new friends and potential partners in the community. We provide drinks, light snacks and a whole lot of conversation, connections and inspiration along with useful tools and ideas that can accelerate your business.
Every month we feature a successful entrepreneur as our guest speaker to share their story and insights that you may be able to connect with. These valuable discussions focus on sharing experiences of being in business, making a difference and suggestions of how to overcome challenges and implement tools that are intended to accelerate your life and business.

- June 27th—Entrepreneur Social at Tahoe Mountain Lab from 6-8:30 p.m. Guest Speaker is Alexis Robin, COO of pLink Leadership. Author of Leap of Faith: Cultivating Your Brave Heart.
- July 26th —Entrepreneur Social at Tahoe Mountain Lab from 5:30-8:00 p.m. Guest Speaker is Taro Arai, Owner of Mikuni Japanese Restaurant and Sushi Bar and Author of “When Dreams Come True.”
GeniusETC also hosts Lake Tahoe Entrepreneur Fast Track, which is part of a global event series. Lake Tahoe is the first U.S. location among other Fast Track events taking place around the world in Taichung, Perth, Melbourne, Prague, Durban, Vilnius, Sydney, London, Northwest, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town, and Glasgow.
UPCOMING LAKE TAHOE ENTREPRENEUR FAST TRACK
- August 23rd —Lake Tahoe Entrepreneur Fast Track facilitated by Roger James Hamilton, Social Entrepreneur, Futurist and Founder of GeniusU, Wealth Dynamics, and Entrepreneurs Institute and Resorts. The event will take place at Harrahs Lake Tahoe from 9 a.m to 1:30 p.m. with a bonus session from 3-4:30 p.m. This event is limited to 200 seats and this event SELLS OUT. Roger James Hamilton is excited to visit Lake Tahoe and make an impact and this global event has the potential to be an annual Lake Tahoe entrepreneur experience.

Why did you choose to join the Tahoe Chamber?
I believe the Chamber in every city is the hub to connection, learning and support. I joined the Tahoe Chamber to contribute and connect with the South Lake Tahoe community and share my entrepreneur and travel events and services with local members and the community.
Is there anything else you would like to share with us?
I believe that when we follow our passions and doing what we love in life and work, that’s when we are in flow and are the happiest. My passions include being of service, travel, writing, leadership, producing events and making a difference. I truly enjoy connecting and shining a light on others, providing opportunities for others to accelerate their business and life, and my love for writing has me contributing to Huff Post and Thrive Global.
