Tahoe Chamber will host two primary election forums this spring.
The first is for the four candidates running for El Dorado County District V Supervisor – Thursday evening, April 28 from 6:00 to approximately 7:30 pm on Zoom. To attend, preregister here to receive the direct meeting link.
The second will be for the three candidates seeking election to the office of Douglas County Commissioner, District 4 – Thursday evening, May 12, from 6:00 to approximately 7:30 pm (Hybrid of in-person at 169 US Highway 50 in Stateline and via Zoom). This forum will include an introductory presentation from Sharla Hales, running unopposed for Douglas County Commission District 2. Preregister here to attend and to receive the direct meeting link.
The format for each of these forums will be the same. Each candidate will provide an opening statement as to why he or she is running and, if elected, the key issues they intend to address.
The candidates will then respond to a series of questions from a panel assembled by Tahoe Chamber, followed by questions submitted from the audience, to the extent time allows. As each forum concludes, each candidate will be given the opportunity for closing statement and to identify their campaign website for further information and dialogue with voters.
The California primary election date is Tuesday, June 7th. County election officials will begin mailing ballots on Monday, May 9th.
In Nevada, primary election date is Tuesday, June 14th. County election officials report that mail-in ballots will begin to arrive by Wednesday, May 25th.
