Leadership Lake Tahoe began in 2003 with a mission to identify and develop current and future leaders through a comprehensive program designed to increase knowledge and awareness of the issues and challenges facing our community

Leadership Lake Tahoe: Now Accepting Applications for 2025-2026

The next Leadership Lake Tahoe cohort kicks off in September 2025 and runs through June 2026. This ten-month, immersive program is designed to equip emerging and established leaders with the tools, connections, and experiences needed to thrive—in both their careers and the community.

Program Highlights

Grounded in the core pillars of GROW, CONNECT, and VOICE, the program features:

  • Monthly, full-day sessions with interactive panels and workshops

  • Community tours and behind-the-scenes access to local organizations

  • Conversations with top-level leaders in business, government, and civic life

  • Collaborative group projects that create meaningful impact on the South Shore

What the Program Covers

Leadership Lake Tahoe explores key aspects of our community, including:

  • Economic Development

  • Environment

  • Equity & Diversity

  • Government

  • Leadership Development

  • Public Education System

  • Social Services & Community Resources

  • Tourism & Recreation

  • Transportation


LLT Program Commitment

Program sessions are held on the second Thursday of each month, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, running September through June.

  • Full attendance and active engagement are critical for professional development and leadership growth. Participants should aim to attend all sessions and communicate ahead of time about any known absences.

  • Participants will complete a group project that benefits the community and fosters leadership skills. This project will require additional hours outside of scheduled sessions.

  • Participants will also attend a series of public meetings to build understanding of local issues and community advocacy.


Tuition Information

Once accepted into the program, applicants will be invoiced for the full tuition amount:

  • $800 for Tahoe Chamber Members

  • $1,000 for Non-Members

Tuition is due in August. Applicants requesting scholarship support will be notified of scholarship decisions by August 1.

Leadership Lake Tahoe Task Force
