After ten years with Tahoe Chamber, Emily Abernathy is moving on to a new adventure as Special Events & Rental Facility Coordinator with the City of South Lake Tahoe. Her official last day with the Chamber team will be Friday, August 27th.

“I am grateful for all the people whom I’ve worked with over the years,” said Abernathy. “Developing programs and events that helped make our business community stronger has been an honor.”

Abernathy has been a driving force in Tahoe Chamber’s growth through the decade. Through her guidance and events expertise, she transformed our signature events into community staples: Sample the Sierra, Business EXPO, and Blue Ribbon Awards. She has also led Leadership Lake Tahoe; through her dedication, the program will find continuing success for many years to come. She has further devoted herself to supporting the South Shore Community since the COVID-19 pandemic dawned, launching new opportunities such as the GO Local E-Gift Card program and our new Virtual Town Hall series in response to the needs of our local businesses.

Abernathy’s organizational leadership secures the successful continuation of all events and programming established. We will miss her greatly, yet we look forward to her continuing work with the South Shore community. We celebrate with her as she begins a new journey.
