Join us for a City Council Candidates Forum on September 21 from 6:00-8:30 PM at The Beach Retreat Conference Center located at 3411 Lake Tahoe Boulevard to hear from the eleven candidates running for City Council. All eleven candidates will be participating in the forum. The meeting is open to the public and will be live streamed on Zoom.

Tomorrow’s forum will allow the candidates to provide an opening statement as to why he or she is running, and if elected, the key issues they intend to address. The candidates will then be asked to respond to a series of questions from a panel of community members. Questions from the in-person audience will be accepted on cards and asked by the panel.

Brad Jacobson

Chantelle Schenning
Chantelle Schenning, PhD is a healthcare leader, wife, and dog mom. Her 15-year career includes clinical work, operations management, strategic leadership, and policy efforts with Federal/State governments and multi-stakeholder groups. She knows how to bring people together on tough issues and find common ground.

Nicole Ramirez Thomas
Nicole Ramirez Thomas is the owner of a small consulting firm that specializes in historic preservation planning, compliance, and entitlement. She has worked in the private sector as well as with federal, state, and local governments. Her interests are policy, human behavior, economics, community resilience, and promoting quality of life.

Scott Robins
I came to Tahoe following my love of the mountains. I seek the office of city council to advocate for local needs – housing, roads, and fire protection. To prioritize locals in our local government, our bartenders and servers, nurses and retirees. These are the people who make Tahoe a home.

Kevin Brunner
I organized the Local Black Lives Matter movement in 2020, which resulted in open dialog with our law enforcement officers and the implementation of bodycams. I have cultivated relationships with current council members and remained an active voice of the “regular people” of Tahoe – the students, working class, and under-represented.
The following candidates will also be present at the forum: Cody Bass, Joby Cefalu, Kevin Brunner, Sherry Eddy, and Tamara Wallace.
Tomorrow’s forum will allow each candidate to provide an opening statement as to why he or she is running, and if elected, the key issues they intend to address. The candidates will then be asked to respond to a series of questions from a panel of community members. Questions from the in-person audience will be accepted.
We encourage the community to learn about the candidates for an informed vote. Election day is November 3rd.
