What type of business do you represent and how long have you been in business?
Weavil Law takes the stress out of business transactions. We are a transactional law firm with a general business practice, including real estate, and a specialty healthcare practice.
Scott Weavil, our founder and principal attorney, started Weavil Law in 2016. Prior to moving to Lake Tahoe, Scott worked as a mergers & acquisitions attorney for law firms in New York and Silicon Valley.
Tell us more about what products and services your business offers. Is there anything people might not be aware you offer?
On the business side, we help clients with:
- business purchases and sales
- commercial real estate transactions, including leases
- employment agreements and employment issues
- business formation and ownership arrangements, such as operating and shareholder agreements
- startup and investment transactions and issues
- general contracting and negotiations
- disputes prior to litigation / arbitration
- other business and real estate issues
On the healthcare side, we represent medical and other healthcare practices and individual healthcare providers with many of the same issues, along with regulatory issues related to the ownership and operation of healthcare practices.
Tell us about any current/upcoming events, promotions, or unique deals happening at your organization.
Currently, we are doing three complimentary commercial real estate lease “check-ups” per month, analyzing COVID-related provisions for both landlords and tenants.
Why did you choose to join the Tahoe Chamber?
Our current client base is located predominantly in Southern California, the Bay Area, and Sacramento, but we would love the chance to help clients in our own community.
Is there anything else you would like to share with us to be featured in the Member Spotlight?
One of the things we try hard to do is be helpful to anyone who reaches out to Weavil Law. Even if it’s not in our wheelhouse, we try to provide a connection to the right advisor or other resource.
