Opportunities to Get Involved with the City of South Lake Tahoe

The City of South Lake Tahoe is accepting applications for appointment to the following city commissions/boards. Serving on one of these advisory panels is an excellent way to get more involved in local decision-making.

 

Planning Commission

The City Council will be appointing five members to serve a two-year term on the Planning Commission. Applicants must reside within the City limits. The Planning Commission meets monthly, assuming there is business to conduct.

 

Parks & Recreation Commission

The Council will be appointing seven members to serve two-year terms on the Parks & Recreation Commission. Applicants must reside within the Tahoe Basin portion of El Dorado County (City or County resident). The Parks and Recreation Commission meets at least quarterly.

 

Airport Land Use Commission

The Council will be appointing two members to the Airport Land Use Commission. Applicants must reside within the Tahoe Basin portion of El Dorado County. The Airport Land Use Commission meets on an as-needed basis.

 

Building Board of Appeals

The Council will be appointing at least three members, but not more than five members to serve a two-year term on the Building Board of Appeals. Applicants must reside within the Tahoe Basin portion of El Dorado County. The Building Board of Appeals meets on an as-needed basis.

 

Applications

Applications may be obtained at the City Clerk’s office located at 1901 Airport Road, South Lake Tahoe, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Applications can also be downloaded from the City’s website at www.cityofslt.us, or mailed, faxed, or emailed to interested parties upon request to the City Clerk’s Office. Completed applications must be returned to the City Clerk’s Office no later than 5:00 p.m., on Friday, December 28, 2018. The Council is scheduled to make these appointments at a regularly scheduled Council meeting in January.
