Don’t sit on the sidelines! Tahoe Chamber encourages you to get directly involved and provide your input in shaping the design and functionality of South Shore’s Main Street, that portion of existing US Highway 50 between Pioneer Trail and Lake Parkway at the east edge of the Stateline casino core.
Here are some of the key factors and criteria for your consideration:
Community Design: Accomplish placemaking by creating animated gathering spaces and encouraging outdoor dining, retail, and other services.
Transportation: Develop the corridor as a complete street network that allows for multiple mobility options, including transit, bikes, autos and pedestrians.
Environment: To the maximum extent possible, encourage the conversion of impervious surfaces throughout the corridor using natural vegetation.
Economy: Enhance economic vitality with economic opportunities for local businesses. Efficiently connect people to jobs, services, and surrounding neighborhoods.
Equity: Improve access to jobs, services and recreational opportunities for ALL residents, workers, and visitors, regardless of age, ethnicity, income, or physical ability.
