“Both businesses were built from the ground up through lots of hard work and perseverance.”

Jared Benvenuto’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to open and operate his two local businesses, Aloha Ice Cream and Tahoe Club Crawl. Jared has also recently joined the Clean Up the Lake team in their efforts to remove trash from Lake Tahoe with a 72-mile dive.

Congratulations to this week’s 40 under 40 honoree, Jared Benvenuto!

Can you tell us a little about your responsibilities and accomplishments in your current position?

I own the Tahoe Club Crawl and Aloha Ice Cream so I definitely have my plate full. I am in charge of marketing and sales for both of our companies. Both businesses were built from the ground up through lots of hard work and perseverance. I found the “rolled ice cream” in Thailand in 2014, and here we are 5 years later, owning the ice cream shop with the best view in Tahoe. I wouldn’t be here without the amazing organization and culinary mind of my wife Lorena.

What has been your favorite professional moment in the last year?

We were super stoked to win Best Of Tahoe for the ice cream shop and came in 3rd place in Nightlife for the Tahoe Club Crawl. That feels great to have both businesses recognized for being awesome.

Do you have a professional/life mantra that you live by?

I would rather take a chance and fail than wonder my whole life whether I could have done it or not. I also believe you shouldn’t get upset over the uncontrollable.

Who is your role model?

My dad Frank is a huge role model for me! He was the first entrepreneur I knew from when he started “Tahoe Quick Lube” in Roundhill in the late 80’s and 90’s.

Why choose Tahoe to make your home and career?

I had no choice I was born at Barton in the 80’s, and grew up here K-12. I lived in Hollywood for a bit after High School, trying to reach for the stars and become an actor. I moved back to Tahoe at the age of 21 and started bartending and pretty much got stuck in paradise.

Are you active in any volunteer roles or community groups?

I am super excited to be part of the “Cleanup The Lake” project which is a 72 mile underwater cleanup partnered with Tahoe Dive Center. We will be diving the whole circumference of the lake cleaning it up.

What is your favorite thing to do outside of work?

I am super active! I enjoy Yoga, paddle boarding, bike riding, hiking, snowboarding but I would have to say my favorite is Onewheeling! It’s a one wheeled electric off road skateboard.
