The Tahoe Chamber’s annual Blue Ribbon Awards celebrates the businesses that make the South Shore of Lake Tahoe special, and Heavenly Mountain Resort does just that. In 2015 Heavenly won the Geotourism award for sustaining or enhancing Lake Tahoe and providing visitors with an authentic experience. Since 2015 Heavenly Mountain Resort has continued their commitment to bringing exciting new ways to enjoy the natural beauty of South Shore.

We recently got the opportunity to speak with Vice President of Planning and Government Affairs, Andrew Strain, about the Epic Discovery Project. This project focuses on summer activities for guests at the top of Heavenly Mountain. Mr. Strain described the Epic Discovery Project as one that would bring people into the natural forests while also offering appealing summer activities for families. Attractions that were added at the top of Heavenly Mountain since 2015 include a four-line zip line, alpine roller coaster and multiple hiking trails.

In the future, Heavenly will continue to expand the Epic Discovery Project to include mountain bike trails, additional observation points, and also water activities at East Peak Lake. With the addition of so many notable attractions over the last two years, Heavenly continues to provide exceptionally memorable experiences for their guests. Their unmatched outdoor adventure opportunities make it clear as to why they were the 2015 Geotourism Blue Ribbon Award winner.
