Join the Tahoe Prosperity Center for a series of 3 Tahoe Rising events. We will discuss challenges facing Lake Tahoe in this current pandemic – from economic, community and environmental perspectives. Keynote speakers will share their wisdom from around the country. Panel sessions with those experts combined with local Tahoe leaders enhance these conversations. Collaborative and interactive group sessions will follow and provide an opportunity to share solutions that we can implement locally to improve our region.

Manny Lamarre – Senior Program Associate at WestED

Manny is working on initiatives that strengthen the improvement of workforce and education that leads to economic mobility for youth and adults. Manny was also the Founding Executive Director of the Nevada Governor’s Office of Workforce Innovation.

Dr. Jamie Orr –  Co-founder of Cowork Tahoe
Jamie has spent the past decade doing everything from conducting research to teaching kids amazing science to growing companies. She moved from Silicon Valley to Lake Tahoe to pursue a better quality of life for her family.
Frank Gerdeman – Director at ADVANCE
Frank has been involved with formal adult education for over 18 years. He’s also served as the State Director of Adult Education and Deputy Division Director with the Vermont Agency of Education. Frank is also a Tahoe Prosperity Center Board Member.

Bruce Katz – Founding Director of the Nowak Metro Finance Lab at Drexel University

Bruce is also a visiting Professor in Practice at the London School of Economics, and previously served as the Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

Colin Robertson – Administrator, NV Div of Outdoor Rec
The Nevada Division of Outdoor Recreation (NDOR) is a new division of state government within the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources. NDOR works to ensure all Nevadans can live healthy and active lives enriched by outdoor recreation.
Will Frohlich – Mayor of Victor, Idaho
Will Frohlich is the Mayor of Victor, Idaho and is in Market Management for Expedia Group. He worked in the outdoor/tourism industry prior to his current roles as Mayor and with Expedia working remotely.
Joelle Shearin – General Manager of Hard Rock Hotel and Casino Lake Tahoe 
Jo has been GM since February 2019. Prior to coming to the Tahoe Basin, she spent six years in the St. Louis area in casino executive rolls. Joelle is a certified public accountant and holds a B.A. in Accounting & Finance as well as a M.B.A. from the University of Findlay, Ohio.
Devin Middlebrook – Senior Sustainable Communities Program Coordinator, TRPA
Devin’s work revolves around land use planning, transportation, renewable energy, outdoor recreation, and community engagement. Devin is also an elected council member in the City of South Lake Tahoe and a Tahoe Prosperity Center Board Member.
