It’s the economy…
Below is a link to a presentation on the current state of the U. S. economy, provided by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce (the Tahoe Chamber is a member) that you might find interesting, but here are a few highlights:
The economy is stronger at this point than most expected.
If there is going to be a recession this year, it is has been pushed back. One Wall Street Journal article even described it as always 6 months away.
Gas prices are down from their recent historic highs.
The CPI rose 6% in February – down from the month before, but still high.
There are over 5 million more job openings than there are unemployed workers.
